The Taian TA5450 is a Chinese special wheeled chassis with 8x8 configuration. This vehicle is also referred as TAS5450. The TA5450 is a designation of a base chassis, while the TAS5450 is a designation of an actual vehicle. This vehicle was developed by Taian Special Vehicle Company to carry various missiles, launchers with artillery rockets and other military equipment. It seems that this vehicle evolved from the Taian TA5380 8x8 special wheeled chassis. Currently it is used by the Chinese armed forces. Some sources report that this vehicle is also in service with Sudan.

The TA5450 special wheeled chassis has a payload capacity of around 25 000 kg. This vehicle has good cross-country mobility and can travel over difficult terrain. It carries DF-15B and DF-15C short-range ballistic missiles and A200, A300 and WS2 artillery rocket systems. It is possible that the TA5450 is also used for other roles.

A 4-door cab of this military vehicle accommodates driver and 5 passengers.

This military vehicle is powered by a Deutz turbocharged diesel engine, developing 517 hp. This engine is license-produced in China. The same engine is used on most heavy high mobility vehicles produced by Taian Special Vehicle Company. The TA5450 has a full-time all-wheel drive. It is fitted with a central tyre inflation system. Tyre pressure can be adjusted by the driver while the vehicle is on the move in order to improve cross-country performance over different types of terrain.
