A militarized version of the Tata Xenon is being proposed for the Indian Army as well as export customers. Due to its commercial nature vehicle is also well suited for paramilitary and law enforcement forces.

This vehicle is intended to carry light duties, such as troop and cargo transport. It can be also used as command vehicle. The Tata Xenon can seat up to 12 people, depending on the version. The rear cargo area is fitted with collapsible seats. It can be covered with canvas cover. A light machine gun mount can be fitted over the cargo area.

Both single- and double-cab versions are available.

Vehicle is powered by a 2.2-liter DICOR BS III turbocharged diesel engine, developing 140 hp. It is the standard engine, that comes with civilian Xenon. Militarized version has a four-wheel drive. It seems that a self-recovery winch is optional. The Tata Xenon can operate in various climatic conditions, ranging from -20C to +50C.

Various versions are being proposed, such as ambulance and reconnaissance vehicle.
