The Pegaso
3045 general utility truck was revealed in the late 1960s. This
military truck and its versions are in service with Spain, Morocco,
Peru and Somalia. Egypt is the largest operator with over 10 000 of
these trucks. Spanish Army received over 4 000 of these vehicles of all versions.
The Pegaso
3045 has 4x4 configuration. It has a maximum payload capacity of 5 t
on road and 3 t off road. Vehicle has a general troop/cargo body
with drop sides and drop tailgate. It can carry up to 20 fully
equipped troops on bench seats. The cargo area is covered with bows
and tarpaulin. This military truck can also carry various shelters in the
cargo body, including an ambulance, communications, and some other. Vehicle can also tow trailers or artillery
pieces with a maximum weight of 7.5 t on road and 4.5 t off road.
Other versions of this truck include a tanker, command vehicle,
workshop and recovery vehicle.
This
military truck is fitted with a soft-top cab, which accommodates
driver and one passenger. The cab is located over the engine. A
windscreen can be folded down and the soft-top can be removed to
reduce height.
The original
Pegaso 3045 is powered by a Pegaso Leyland Comet diesel engine,
developing 125 or 135 hp. The Pegaso 3045G is powered by a DAF
petrol engine, developing 125 hp. A front-mounted winch was proposed
as an option.
This
military truck series is also available with 6x6 configuration (Pegaso
3055).
Variants
Pegaso 3046
improved export model. In the early 1980s it replaced in production

diesel engine, developing 170 hp.
IVECO-Pegaso

payload. It can carry 5 t on road and 4 t off road. This military
truck is also faster than its predecessor. Vehicle is fitted with
soft- or hard-top cab. Its production commenced in 1987. Since this
model the truck is branded as IVECO-Pegaso.
IVECO-Pegaso
7222 a follow-on model, powered by IVECO-Pegaso 10.5-liter
turbocharged diesel engine, developing 210 hp. It has a maximum
payload capacity of 6 t on road and 4 t off road. This and following
