The KamAZ-65225 is a Russian military tank transporter. It was developed as a private venture and is based on KamAZ-6522 truck. The KamAZ-65225 was adopted by the Russian armed forces. First vehicles were delivered in 2013. This tank transporter is being fielded in large numbers.

Design of this military truck is simple and robust. It is used in conjunction with a 3-axle semi-trailer. This vehicle can haul various loads with a maximum weight of 50 000 kg over long distances. It can haul Russian main battle tanks, such as T-90 and T-72 as well as other armored vehicles and tracked artillery systems. A semi-trailer has a special cargo area for various loads.

In Russian armed forces the KamAZ-65225 partially replaces the ageing MAZ-537G high mobility tank transporter, that was adopted in the early 1960s. However the new KamAZ tractor truck lacks power and cross-country mobility of the ageing MAZ-537G. In 2015 a new KamAZ-78504 8x8 high mobility tank transporter was revealed, which has off-road performance to match the MAZ-537G.

Vehicle has a forward control cab, that accommodates driver and co-driver. It has one sleeper berth.

This tractor truck is powered by KamAZ 740.50-360 turbocharged diesel engine, developing 360 hp. It complies with EURO 2 emission requirements. Also there is a version of this truck, powered by a 400 hp engine. This engine complies with EURO 4 emission requirements.

Engine is mated to an automatic transmission. Vehicle has a 6x6 configuration with all-wheel drive. The tractor truck and trailer combination has limited cross-country mobility. However it is mainly intended to operate on hard surface roads. When fully loaded this vehicle can reach speed of 70 km/h. There is a loading winch that is used to load immobile vehicles.
