The BMC 525-44 8x8 special wheeled chassis was first revealed in 2012. At that time it was in testing phase. It is a purpose-designed military vehicle, rather than militarized commercial design. It might enter service with the Turkish Army in the near future.

Designation of this military truck follows the standard BMC practice. First number in the designation denotes engine power (525 hp), while the last number denoted gross vehicle weight (44 t).

The BMC 525-44 has good cross country mobility. It is designed to operate on all kinds of roads and off-road. The main role of this special wheeled chassis is to carry weapon systems and specialized military equipment. It can be also used as a transporter-erector-launcher for ballistic missiles. The BMC 525-44 can carry weapons and equipment with a maximum weight of about 20-25 t.

Prototype of this vehicle is fitted with a spacious double cab, that accommodates driver and about 5 passengers.

This military vehicle is powered by a turbocharged diesel engine, developing 525 hp. It is likely to be a Cummins engine. These engines are produced in Turkey under license. Engine is located behind an under the cab.

Variants of this 8x8 truck might include a tank transporter.
