The ACMAT VLTP-NP (Vehicule Leger Tactique Polyvalent Non Protege, or Non-Protected Light Multirole Tactical Vehicle) is a new French military vehicle. It is a rebadged version of the Ford Everest sports utility vehicle. In 2016 French armed forces ordered 3 700 of these light utility vehicles to replace their ageing Peugeot P4, that was introduced back in 1982. Later this number was increased to 4 380 vehicles, including 3 980 vehicles for the French Army and remaining for other branches of the French military. At some point the ACMAT VLTP-NP was renamed to ACMAT VT4. Recently the whole Renault Trucks Defence company, current owner of the ACMAT brand, was renamed as Arquus. Also its whole vehicle lineup was renamed. Now this militarized vehicle is being offered as the Arquus Trapper. It was planned that first production vehicles will be delivered to the French Army in 2018 and deliveries will be completed in 2020. It will be delivered in two baseline versions. One of them will be optimized for overseas operations. Currently this utility vehicle will be used by the French military, including Army, Navy, Air Force, and National Guard.

The ACMAT VLTP-NP is a rebadged version of the Ford Everest sports utility vehicle. The Ford Everest was developed in Australia and is produced in Thailand. Though some modifications were made to adapt this vehicle in order to meet military requirements. The VLTP-NP has got a different engine and stronger suspension. This purely commercial design was chosen in order to reduce procurement and servicing costs.

The VLTP-NP has little in common with previous ACMAT vehicles, that are known for their simplicity, ruggedness, reliability and commonality of parts across their product range. Also unlike its predecessor, the Peugeot P4, it is not a dedicated military vehicle.

The ACMAT VLTP-NP light utility vehicle has a payload capacity of 900 kg. It is mainly intended to carry soldiers and communication equipment. This vehicle can be used for fast movement of soldiers.

This vehicle is powered by a diesel engine, developing 150 hp. Such engine is not offered for the civilian Ford Everest. Despite its civilian nature this light utility vehicle has got good off-road mobility. Also this vehicle is air transportable. It can be airlifted by tactical military aircraft such as the C-130 Hercules, or A400M.
