The AFT-10 anti-tank missile carrier was first publicly revealed in 2014. At that time it was already in service with Chinese armed forces. This anti-tank missile carrier is being produced in large numbers.

This ATGW carrier is armed with HJ-10 missiles. This missile is a Chinese clone of the Israeli Spike NLOS. It uses the same technology. The HJ-10 can be also seen as a scaled-down version of the Chinese CM-501G land attack missile. The AFT-10 is only a third weight of the CM-501G. It has a range of 10 km. Minimum range of fire is 3 km.

The missile has an optical/imaging guidance system. It is a non-line of sight missile. It can lock on the target within the line of sight. Alternatively the operator locks on the target after the launch, using a real time image from the missile. Commands to the missile are transmitted via a two-way fiber-optic cable. The launcher vehicle has two consoles for the operators.

It can engage enemy tanks, armored vehicle, buildings and field fortifications. It can also engage low-flying helicopters.

Missile launcher is mounted on the chassis of a ZBD-08 infantry fighting vehicle. A single launcher has 8 ready to fire missiles. Missiles are launched from containers.

Vehicle is operated by a crew of 3, including commander, driver and operator.

Most likely that this anti-tank missile carrier is powered by a BF8M1015CP diesel, developing 590 hp. Engine is mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The AFT-10 is fully amphibious. On water it is propelled by its tracks.

This missile carrier is supported by an associated reloading vehicle. It is based on an 8x8 truck chassis and carries reload missiles. The truck is fitted with a hydraulic crane. It takes around 20 minutes to reload all the missiles.
