The JCB 541-70 Loadall is commercial rough terrain forklift and uses proven JCB telescopic handler technology. It has been militarized to meet the British armed forces requirements. It entered service with the British Army as the Rough Terrain Foklift or RTFL. At least 91 of these forklifts were delivered.

In the British service the JCB 541-70 is used to handle general palletized stores. It can load and unload shipping containers and trucks. The RTFL can lift loads with a maximum weight of 4.1 t. Its telescopic boom has a forward reach of 3.7 m and lift height of 7 m. To full height it can reach loads of up to 2.5 t. It can reach into truck and containers. The RTFL can be also used in construction. Its front-mounted fork attachment can be replace with a universal bucket for earthworking and other operations.

The cab of this forklift provides protection for the operator against rollover and falling objects.

It seems that this forklift is fitted with a 4.4-liter JCB EcoMAX T4i turbocharged diesel engine, developing 125 hp. This engine can be adapted to run on lower grade fuels. The RTFL has an all-wheel drive as standard. It can operate over rough terrain, on soft ground and muddy areas.

The RTFL has three steering modes, including two-wheel steering for travelling on highway, four-wheel steering for operation on sites and crab steering for operation in confined areas.
