The Wildcat mine resistant ambush protected vehicle was developed by Israel Military Industries (IMI) as a private venture to meet the USMC specifications. The Wildcat is a versatile urban warfare combat vehicle. No orders were placed for this MRAP, however IMI expects that future customers will become Israel, USA and some other countries.

The IMI Wildcat has three modular levels of protection. The basic armor provides protection against 7.62-mm armor-piercing bullets. The second level uses passive lightweight armor panels and protects against 14.5-mm armor-piercing projectiles and improvised explosive devices. The third level of protection uses explosive reactive armor panels and can withstand RPG hits and 14.5-mm projectiles. Damaged armor modules can be field replaced. Vehicle has a V-shaped hull and raised crew compartment for improved protection against landmines. NBC protection and automatic fire extinguishing systems are fitted as standard.

The Wildcat is fitted with remotely controlled weapon station and eight firing ports for the troops.

Vehicle has a crew of three and provides accommodation for 8 troops. Three access points are provided for the  occupants. Two ramps are located on the side and rear and there is a cabin door on the right. Troops can also leave the vehicle via the roof hatches.

The Wildcat chassis is based on the Tatra 4x4 platform. The Tatra chassis offers excellent cross country and road mobility. It also provides improved crew comfort. Vehicle's independent suspension has adjustable ground clearance. The Wildcat is powered by Cummins turbocharged diesel engine, developing 321 hp. Vehicle is fitted with run-flat tyres and central tyre inflation system. This armored personnel carrier can be airlifted with the C-130 Hercules or A-400M military transports.

Variants of the Wildcat will include internal security vehicle, border patrol vehicle, reconnaissance vehicle, combat support vehicle, command vehicle, ambulance, logistics and recovery vehicles.
