The Didgori 3 was developed by Delta research center of Ministry of Defense of Georgia, to meet requirements of the Georgian armed forces. It is named after the Battle of Didgori. It is also referred as Three-Axle Armored Vehicle or TAAV. It was first publicly revealed in 2012. Some sources report that a small number of these armored vehicles are in service with the Georgian Army.

This Georgian armored vehicle was developed specially for peacekeeping operations. It combines features of MRAP, armored personnel carrier, long-range patrol vehicle, and special forces vehicle. It is a third vehicle in the Didgori line. There is also a Didgori armored personnel carrier and Didgori 2 armored scout car.

The Didgori 3 has a welded steel armor hull. It is claimed that all-round protection is against 7.62x51-mm armor-piercing rounds. Vehicle has a V-shaped hull for protection against anti-tank mines and IED blasts. Front wheel arches are designed to be blown away to free blast pockets. It is also claimed that this vehicle withstands blasts equivalent to 8 kg of TNT without heavy damage.

This armored vehicle is armed with remotely-controlled 12.7-mm and coaxial 7.62-mm machine gun. Also there are two 7.62-mm pintle-mounted and shielded machine guns, mounted in the cargo area.

This Georgian MRAP accommodates driver, commander, gunner and 9 fully-equipped troops. The Didgori 3 has a rear loading area and can carry essential combat supplies.

The Didgori 3 has the same internal communication, navigation and FLIR systems, as being used on Didgori and Didgori 2 armored vehicles.

This armored vehicle is based on a modified chassis of Ukrainian KrAZ-6322 heavy utility truck chassis. Vehicle is possibly powered by a YaMZ-238D turbocharged diesel engine, developing 330 hp. It is worth noting, that Georgians recently developed a ZCRS-122 artillery rocket system, which is also based on the KrAZ 6x6 chassis and has a double armored cabin. Vehicle is fitted with a self-recovery winch. Also it has a towing hook and can tow trailers or artillery pieces.
