The Bull mine resistant ambush protected vehicle was jointly developed by Ceradyne, Ideal Innovations and Oshkosh in response to the US military requirement. The MRAP II competition was announced in 2007. By that time it became clear that roadside bomb attacks were increasing in Iraq. Current generation mine resistant vehicles could not stop them without add-on armor. However the Bull MRAP received no production orders despite its superior performance. Only some prototypes were built. Eventually a Caiman MRAP was selected by the US military.

This vehicle has a V-shaped hull, which do not extends into the engine compartment. Patented armor of the Bull has outer layers, that stop explosively formed penetrators. This armor proved to be successful and US military quickly adapted it into FRAG 6 armor kits, fitted onto earlier generation MRAP vehicles.

Prototypes of the Bull carried no armament. However a shielded 7.62-mm or 12.7-mm machine gun could be fitted on the roof.

Two versions of the Bull were delivered to the US military for testing and evaluation. One of them accommodated 6 troops, the other 10 troops. Occupants enter and leave the vehicle via rear doors. Also there are two side hatches, used for emergency exit. Such designed gave better side protection, comparing with traditional side doors. However side doors were included into MRAP II requirement. So it might have been one of the reasons, why the Bull was not selected.

The Bull is based on Oshkosh MTVR chassis. Some of its driveline components are commercially available. Vehicle has a 6x6 configuration with full-time all-wheel drive. This MRAP is fitted with a central tyre inflation system.
