The Bronco New Generation or New-Gen was developed by Singapore Technologies Kinetics. It evolved from the original Bronco ATTC. Worth noting that in 2010 the original Bronco was exported to United Kingdom. It is locally known as the Warthog. This vehicle was used during the War in Afghanistan. It seems that development of the new model commenced during that time. Improvements were based on the British experience using these vehicles in Afghanistan. The Bronco New-Gen was trialed during 2012-2013. A prototype was first publicly revealed in 2014. Finalized version was revealed in 2016. It seems that this vehicle is aimed mainly at export customers. Also it is likely that it is tailored for a posible UK requirement.

The Bronco New-Gen is a more capable vehicle than its predecessor. The new model has a completely re-engineered chassis for improved protection against mine blasts. The New Generation model has larger internal volume and can carry more payload. Vehicle has a curb weight of 10.2 t and can carry 6.3 t of payload. Furthermore it has a potential to carry 7.8 t of paylod.. Also it can carry more add-on armor for a higher level of protection. Yet it is lighter than the original Bronco.

Vehicle consists of two articulated units. Engine and transmission are in the forward unit. Connection to the rear unit is made via an articulated joint which is also used for steering. It gives great flexibility in all axles and extremely good maneuverability. Power is continuously driving on all four of the tracks, which exert a ground pressure less than that of a man's foot. The simplicity in the handling of the vehicle involves a minimum of driver training.

The Bronco New-Gen has outstanding off-road mobility. It can go over snow, sand and marshlands. Also it can climb considerable gradients. This vehicle can work in arctic cold or in tropical heath.

Vehicle has a steel armor hull. The New Generation model provides the occupants protection against small arms fire and artillery shell splinters. Baseline armor provides all-round protection against Soviet 7.62 mm armor-piercing rounds. Add-on armor can be fitted for a higher level of protection. Maximum level of protection with add-on armor is against 14.5 mm armor-piercing rounds.

The Bronco New-Gen has a V-shaped hull. It is an unusual feature for this type of vehicles. Such hull significantly improved protection against land mines and improvised explosive devices. The V-shaped hull deflects explosive force away from the vehicle.

The baseline Bronco New-Gen is an armored troop carrier. Vehicle has a crew of two, including commander and driver. It can carry about 10 troops. The front unit accommodates 4 soldiers, while the rear unit provides seating for 8 soldiers. Seating of the crew and troops was rearranged in order to improve survivability against landmines. Now soldiers are seated on the centerline of the vehicle. Directly above the V-shaped hull.

From the earliest stage this armored tracked carrier was designed as a multi-purpose vehicle. The rear unit is modular and quickly interchangeable. Various modules are planned to be developed to meet different battlefield roles. The rear module can be easily replaced. So the same vehicle could be used as a troop carrier, ambulance, command post vehicle, weapon carrier and so on. For some applications the rear unit may vary considerably. In some cases it can be even left unarmored or even fully opened.

The Bronco New-Gen is proposed with a remotely controlled weapon station mounted on the roof of the forward unit. It can be armed with 7.62 mm, or 12.7 mm machine gun. Alternatively it can be armed with a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher and coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun. Other armament options are also available.

The Bronco New-Gen is powered by a turbocharged diesel engine. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Vehicle has a watertight body and can swim without preparation. Maximum speed on water is 4 km/h. It retains amphibious capability at higher level of add-on protection than its predecessor.

The Bronco New-Gen can be transported by a variety of aircraft and even large military helicopters.

There is a version of the Bronco New-Gen, which carries a SRAMS 120 mm mortar in the rear unit.
